Lesson Info

All Group Swim Lessons register by the session. Sessions have 8 Classes, each being 30 min. long. 

All Outdoor Group Swim Lessons are held at Sooner Pool.

If unfavorable weather occurs, lessons will be rescheduled for a later day or moved to the YMCA Indoor pool for a later day.

Bring to lesson:

  • swimsuit on (locker rooms available if needed)
  • towel
  • Slides/flip flops (shoes that are easily put on / off when feet are wet)
  • long hair pulled back
  • goggles if appropriate 

Lesson Cost

  • Y Member: $45.00/per Session
  • Non-Y Member: $90.00/per Session

*There is a $25.00 administration fee on all refund requests. No refunds will be issued after each session's final day of registration.

Lesson Dates and Times

All lessons are Monday-Thursday for two weeks (8 total lessons)

  • Session 1: June 2-12 *Registration closes May 30th @3pm
  • Session 2: June 16-26 *Registration closes June 13th @3pm
  • Session 3: June 30-July 10 *Registration closes June 27th @3pm
  • Session 4: July 14-24 *Registration closes July 11th @3pm

Times Available per Session

  • 10:15-10:45am
  • 10:50-11:20am
  • 6:30-7:00pm
  • 7:05-7:35pm

Lesson Groups

  • Parent/Child 6months-3yrs
  • Pre-K 3-5yrs
  • Youth 6-17yrs

Children will be evaluated and placed in Swim Basics or Swim Strokes for group lessons based on these criteria. We do our best to work with parents to keep siblings together whenever possible. Please speak to the aquatics director or swim instructors if you have further questions about your child's level.  

SWIM BASICS

Level 1: Will the student go underwater voluntarily?

Level 2: Can the student do a front and back float on his or her own?

Level 3: Can the student swim 10-15 yards on his or her front and back?
