2022 Spring Baseball & Softball

The Richard Kane YMCA is excited to be taking on the recreational & competitive Spring Baseball & Softball program. This program was given to us by Washington County Youth Baseball Softball (WCYBS) In late January 2022. The YMCA strives to develop young athletes by improving physical condition, teaching sports skills, helping develop feelings of self-worth, and to play with a sportsmanlike attitude. Our goal for youth sports is to teach youth in our community how to become and stay healthy while having fun in the process.

Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Price Fields. Times to be decided.

Players will be placed on teams by a skills assessment. Games and practices will be held on weeknights beginning April 4. The YMCA will provide a game jersey and hat for each player. Each player is responsible for providing their own shoes (cleats), glove, and game pants. Financial Assistance is available, there is no guarantee your application will be reviewed if turned in after February 18, 2021.

*Players who do not attend the skills assessment will be placed on teams randomly by the YMCA Sports Director. (No Exceptions).

**THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS OR PLACEMENT REQUESTS FOR ANY TEAMS. Siblings will be placed on the same team and head coaches will have their children placed on their team. All other factors are not guaranteed to be accommodated. (I.e. location, transportation, coach, etc...)

Volunteer Coaching:

All YMCA sports programs rely on volunteer coaches to make each season possible. Each team is in need of a minimum of 2 coaches to make the season successful. Volunteer coaches must pass a background check to be a part of this program. Registration to be a volunteer is required for ALL who will work directly with the players.
