2022 Fall Tackle Football is where team players are made!
The purpose of YMCA football is to educate young players on the fundamentals of football in a competitive atmosphere. We strive to develop young athletes by improving physical condition, teaching sport skills, help develop feelings of self-worth, and to play with a sportsmanlike attitude. Our Football program plays within the Indian Nations Football Conference (INFC). Please note that spots are filled on a first come first serve basis.
All players must have a sports physical completed by their family doctor (form link provided below). All guardians must provide their player's coach a copy of the child's birth certificate. These items must be turned in for your child to be allowed to pay.
Football Jersey fittings are held at the YMCA in the football room. Athletes will be fitted for a Jersey only.
To meet ordering deadlines in time for everyone’s first scrimmage any special number request must be submited by July 1st. Each player/team is responsible for their own game pants, practice pants, and cleats. Game day Jerseys are for the player to keep once they are delivered. Any players needing to adjust sizes after delivery will be subject to a $25 resizing fee.
Players will check out a helmet and shoulder pads if they do not own their own. Fittings for equipment will be held in July. At that time players will check out their needed equipment for the season. Dates and times for these fittings will be emailed out to participants once they are scheduled.
Per INFC rules all athletes must turn in a copy of their physical and their birth certificate to play. Please submit these documents to the YMCA front desk by Sunday, July 31. Physical forms can be found HERE https://www.inyouthsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/player_physical.pdf
Our Sports programs rely on volunteer coaches to help make each season possible. Each football team is in need of 3-6 volunteer coaches. If you are interested in being a volunteer coach or know someone who is interested in being a volunteer coach please complete a volunteer packet available at the YMCA front desk.
Coaches are in charge of managing their team including setting practice days and times, teaching safe technique, teaching safe plays, coordinating game day schedules with families, enforcing INFC practice and game day rules, as well as ensuring each athlete has a fun experience.
We can not wait to begin another great season of YMCA Tackle Football. Here are some upcoming dates to keep you informed.
